Wooden Dining Chair CH36 with Woven Seat

The CH36 wooden chair by Hans J. Wegner is made with great attention to detail in a simple and functional design. The design from 1962 clearly shows the influence that the furniture principles and craftsmanship of the American Shakers had on Wegner's work. The legs of the CH36 taper towards the floor and, in the case of the rear legs, also slightly upwards, giving the chair an elegant appearance. The backrest is noticeably more curved at the top than at the bottom, which optimises the support for the back. The overall look is rounded off by the frame and seat, which are handwoven from hard-wearing paper cord. Made in Denmark
