The CH327 dining table by Hans J. Wegner from 1962 is a good example of how creativity combined with excellent craftsmanship can lead to an extraordinary, interesting design. The CH327 is a solid wood dining table with soft edges and rounded legs that taper towards the floor. The grain of the wood follows the length of the table top, which is supported by three different rails. There is a side rail on each side, which continues along the length of the table. There is a gap between the side rail and the table top. This creates the impression that the table top is floating. At each end, there are two removable legs that are connected by a cross brace. The legs and cross braces provide stability in the transverse direction, while the side rails provide stability in the longitudinal direction. The side rails are higher on the table legs and are placed closer together to increase legroom when sitting. This table seats up to ten people. Made in Denmark
