The chair not only represents the aesthetic and practical power of Gascoin's designs, but also the social awareness that he strongly demonstrated in France in the post-war years. The C-CHAIR originally arose from the need to adapt to the new apartment sizes after the Second World War, and Gascoin compensated for the lack of space with simple, functional furniture.
